Terra Mítica Park – mythological amusement park

Terra Mítica – Journey Through Ancient Civilizations

In the previous article, we described the largest water park on the Costa Blanca coast – Aqualandia. But near Alicante there is another, equally interesting amusement park – Terra Mítica. Being in Terra Mitica Park we can take a journey through ancient civilizations combining history, mythology and modern attractions in one magical place.

The Terra Mítica was opened in 2000 and has since become one of the main tourist attractions of the region. Covering an area of over 100 hectares, Terra Mítica offers visitors not only a variety of attractions for everyone, but also beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea and the mountainous landscape of the Costa Blanca. Terra Mítica is distinguished by its unique idea based on the subject of mythology and cultures of ancient civilizations. It is divided into five thematic areas, each representing a different ancient culture. And there we have:

Egypt

The Egyptian Zone takes visitors back to the times of the pharaohs. Among palm trees and pyramids guests can find such attractions as: Pirámide del Terror or a dark labyrinth inside the pyramid full of surprises and fear, El Vuelo del Halcón – an exciting roller coaster inspired by the falcon, a sacred Egyptian bird. We also have Rapids del Nilo, inflatable rafting on „Nile waters”, perfect for hot days. You can also enjoy an interactive ride through ancient Egypt – El Rescate de Isis.

Greece

In the Greek zone, surrounded by classic columns and statues of the Olympic gods, you will find Titánide – one of the most exciting roller coasters in the park, Synkope – an extreme swing rising to a height of 54 meters, and Alucinakis – crazy family cars in the style of a Greek village.

Rome

In the Roman part you will find: Magnus Colossus or an impressive wooden roller coaster, one of the symbols of the park, a water adventure inspired by the wrath of the sea god – La Furia de Tritón and Los Ícaros – an interactive aviation attraction.

Iberia

In the part devoted to ancient civilizations of the Iberian Peninsula, guests can enjoy: El Jabato – a family roller coaster inspired by Iberian legends or a water battle allowing for interaction between guests called Arietos

Mediterranean Islands

This zone refers to the history of Mediterranean islands such as Sicily, Crete and Cyprus. And here we have: Los Rápidos de Argos or an exciting rafting trip on pontoons through mythological lands or Puerto de Alejandría – a peaceful haven for the youngest guests.

Terra Mítica has been designed to provide attractions for every age group 😉 From families with children, adrenaline seekers, history and culture lovers to show and performance lovers.

The park regularly organizes special events such as: Terra Mítica de Noche, the evening opening of the park in the summer season, combined with additional light shows and concerts, autumn Halloween en Terra Mítica and Navidad Mágica, i.e. Christmas illuminations, parades and meetings with Santa Claus in the winter period.

The park also cares for the comfort of its guests, offering a number of amenities such as: numerous restaurants and bars, souvenir shops, lockers for storing things, places of rest in the shade and relaxation zones or accessibility for people with disabilities.

The park is open seasonally, usually from April to October, with different opening hours depending on the month and day of the week. In peak season (July-August) Terra Mítica is open from morning till late evening.

Therefore, if you want to move into the world of myths and legends, you absolutely must visit this park. And all the details can be found on the official website: www.terramiticapark.com.
