A day in and around Benidorm – Spanish pearls Costa Blanca
Benidorm, known as the Spanish capital of entertainment, offers much more than just crowded beaches and vibrant nightclubs. A one-day tour of this region will certainly provide us with an unforgettable experience! Here you will find places for nature lovers as well as adventure and adrenaline seekers 😉
Stunning Beaches
If you plan to go to Benidorm, while staying at Costa Blanca – it is worth going to one of the two main beaches – Levante or Poniente. Eastern Levante is the energetic heart of the city with numerous bars and water equipment rentals. The opposite is the western Poniente, which offers a more peaceful climate. This is the perfect place for a morning walk along the coast.
Historic Old Town
After sunbathing it’s time to visit the Old Town – El Castell – where walking through narrow streets you will reach the lookout point Balcón del Mediterráneo. From this place there is an impressive view of the bay and the line of skyscrapers, which gave Benidorm the nickname of „Manhattan of Spain”. El Castell was originally a fortification to protect the city from pirates. Today it is a region full of traditional restaurants, souvenir shops and a true Spanish atmosphere.
Natural Wonders
If you love nature, you absolutely must go to Sierra Helada – a picturesque natural park located north-east of the city. This seaside mountain range offers several hiking trails with beautiful views of the Mediterranean. The trail leading to the Albir lighthouse is particularly popular.
Charming Altea
For those who appreciate peace and do not like crowds, we recommend the charming town of Altea located 10 kilometers from Benidorm. Its distinctive dome of a church covered with blue tiles towers over the city, and the white houses and artistic galleries create an atmosphere that attracts artists from all over the world.
Family Entertainment
When going to this area of Spain, you will also find something for a family with children. Two amusement parks! The first is Terra Mítica, an impressive theme park that takes visitors on a fascinating journey through the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Greece and Rome, offering thrilling roller coasters, live shows and themed food zones, all in a setting reproducing the architecture and atmosphere of the ancient Mediterranean world. For more information, please visit: www.terramiticapark.com.
The second is Aqualandia, one of the largest and oldest water parks in Europe, which offers visitors an impressive collection of water slides, including the legendary Verti-Go – one of the highest slides in the world with an almost vertical drop, ensuring an unforgettable experience for adrenaline lovers. Evening Entertainment
If we have enough strength and time 😉 at the end of the day, it is worth returning to Benidorm to try local delicacies in one of the tapas bars. In the evening, we can also watch flamenco shows, music performances and performances, such as the famous Benidorm Palace Show – one of the most exciting revues in Spain.
Both Benidorm itself and its surroundings show its visitors that Costa Blanca offers much more than just the sun and beach – it is a region where traditional Spanish culture meets with entertainment, creating an ideal place for both relaxation and active leisure.
